LILIUM
Custom romantic display typeface inspired by vintage bookstores and Victorian floral covers, crafted to evoke elegance, nostalgia, and historical charm.

Project Overview
Lilium is a display typeface inspired by the quiet beauty of vintage bookstores, especially The Book Lady Bookstore in Savannah, Georgia. Surrounded by rare, out-of-print books with Victorian floral covers, this project aims to translate that atmosphere into typography. Lilium captures the femininity, detail, and romanticism of 19th-century book design, bringing a sense of elegance and nostalgia to the page.
The Challenge
The Challenge
The goal was to create a typeface that visually represents the spirit of Victorian book covers. With their intricate design, floral influences, and expressive forms. As a display typeface, it wasn’t meant for everyday practicality but rather to act as a distinctive design feature that adds personality and transports the viewer to another time.
The Solution
The Solution
Lilium was crafted with careful attention to detail, featuring graceful curves, organic shapes, and stylized serifs that echo the artistry of antique books. Designed to be used at larger sizes, it serves as a decorative element. Ideal for titles, covers, and branding that seeks to evoke delicacy, uniqueness, and historical richness. Like the bookstore that inspired it, Lilium invites you to slow down and step into a different era.
